where we are at present - end of Sept.

We are currently up at Norbury Junction - at least Paddy and I are - John is doing his helmsman course. Attached is a photo of him at the helm of the trainers boat - bringing it in for some diesel! He has apparently been reversing the boat through bridges this morning and is going to be doing locks tomorrow!
At least there is a picture with a boat on it - we are still waiting for the latest pictures of ours from the builders! If nothing else the process is teaching me patience.
The previous boat apparently took longer than anticipated (we have been told that ALL boats take longer than anticipated!) and so ours only got into the builders shed last week. This of course means that it will be later than we had hoped that we actually get on board.
I am still trying to be hopeful that it will be ready for Christmas but John is saying it's more likely to be the back end of January, he always was the optomistic one. In any case we are making plans of how to spend Christmas in the van just in case!
At some point I WILL be in a position to post some pictures of the boat - just not today.
