Moored at Huntingdon

18th April '13

Just a quick update from the iPad today I'm afraid. Because we haven't been cruising for long for the last few days, we're having some battery issues. Come Sunday and we can motor a bit more, all should be fine, but we're conserving power at present.

We moved about 5 miles further towards Rugby today, so that tomorrow we can hopefully stop for some supplies before mooring. There are about 9 miles and 3 locks before the pub, so it's an easy run.

More April weather, sun lovely when you're out of the wind and its not raining!

The tow-paths are awful along this stretch, I took a photo and hopefully will put it on tomorrow. Long lengths of deep mud. We were planning to walk up to see an old motte and bailey shown on the map, but couldn't get through, ugh!

The moorings are few and far between and there seem to be a lot of boats out on this canal. More in one day than in the last week. Maybe they're looking for a mooring as well!

I forgot to mention yesterday, that I gave Paddy a trim. John says he looks like the "you should have gone to Specsavers" dog, distinctly moth eaten. I've suggested he have a go but for some reason he seems reluctant! Poor Paddy, at least he doesn't know what he looks like!
