Moored at Huntingdon

20th April '13

Happy 6th birthday Paddy! Poor little chap stood on a thorn the other day and is now limping a bit, so we're taking it a bit steady with him.

Here he is relaxing in a bit of sunshine this morning before we set off!

We did our nifty thing with the walkie-talkies but there was no room at the inn - at least no mooring, so we tied up between 2 railway bridges on some really awful pilings and walked the 2 minutes to the pub.

They all arrived safely and we had a lovely lunch and catch-up time.

Halden with his lunch - look at the teeth - he nearly has his full set now. He's 14 and a half months now.

Nellie just wondering what to do next! Up to no good probably! She's now a year and a few weeks. It was over 4 months since we last came to this pub and they are both so much more grown up. We won't see them again for a few months now so heaven knows what they'll be up to then.

Proud Granny and Grumpy with the two youngest grandchildren - we'll try to get photos of the older 3 when we're down south!

After lunch we continued our journey and have got as far as Braunston where we've turned south staying on the Oxford. This is now new territory for us once again. We are hoping that moorings improve as the one we are in is the first time we've had to use the stakes for 2 years and we are also having to use the gangplank. That's fun with Paddy......

My camera's battery had run out but I'll take a photo in the morning of our mooring.

Here we are just coming up to the Junction - the bridges on the Oxford are superb for the junctions. You can see what a lovely day it was - we even got into our 'longs' and John went so far as to wear sandals! This has obviously upset the weather system since the forecast is not so good for tomorrow.

As we came around the junction I spotted the daffodils - captured a good shadow of Captain John as well - quite artistic I feel if a complete accident.

Tomorrow we head for Napton and lots of locks.....
